INTERNATIONAL RETREAT TERMS & CONDITIONS
Although “Tides of Transformation” is organized and facilitated by I am InLight, all participants must understand that they are solely responsible for personal decisions, conduct, belongings, travel arrangements, travel documents, and personal expenses and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations while traveling.
1) Informed consent: I understand that participation in meditation, ceremonies, movement practices, or other experiential activities is voluntary, and I may decline to participate in any activity that I do not feel comfortable undertaking.
2) Assumption of risk: I voluntarily choose to participate in this retreat and understand that participation involves inherent risks, including those associated with international travel, transportation, physical activities, group activities, excursions, weather, food, illness, communicable diseases, and other unforeseen events including risks that cannot be anticipated or eliminated. I voluntarily assume these risks.
3) Medical emergency: In the event of a medical emergency, I authorize I am InLight to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf if I am unable to do so. I understand that all costs associated with such treatment are solely my responsibility. I authorize I am InLight to contact the emergency contact I have provided. I understand that I remain responsible for following the advice of medical professionals and for any decisions regarding my ongoing care.
4) Health disclosures: I certify that I am physically and mentally able to participate in this retreat. I agree to inform I am InLight of any medical conditions, prescription medications, allergies, mobility limitations, or other health concerns that may affect my participation or require emergency assistance.
5) Mental health: Participants may experience personal insight, reflection, stress reduction, or emotional growth through retreat activities. However, the retreat is educational and experiential in nature and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any mental health condition or to serve as psychotherapy.
While the facilitator is a Licensed Professional Counselor, she is serving solely in the role of retreat facilitator, teacher, and guide during this program. Participation in this retreat does not establish a therapist-client relationship, and communications during retreat activities are not psychotherapy services.
6) Passport: I am responsible for obtaining and maintaining a valid passport, complying with entry requirements, and obtaining any required visas or travel documentation.
7) Travel insurance: I understand that itineraries, accommodations, facilitators, transportation, and activities may change due to weather, safety concerns, vendor availability, or circumstances beyond the control of I am InLight. I understand that InLight strongly recommends that I obtain travel insurance, including trip cancellation, interruption, medical, and emergency evacuation coverage.
8) Force Majeure: I understand that I am InLight shall not be responsible for delays, changes, or cancellation of the retreat due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, severe weather, pandemics, government actions, travel restrictions, political unrest, airline disruptions, strikes, or other unforeseen events.
9) Retreat cancellation by I am InLight: If I am InLight cancels the retreat for reasons other than force majeure, all retreat payments made to I am InLight will be refunded. Participants remain responsible for any non-refundable airfare, travel insurance, passport fees, or other personal travel expenses.
10) Participant conduct: I agree to conduct myself respectfully toward other participants, facilitators, staff, and local communities. I understand that disruptive, abusive, or illegal behavior may result in my removal from the retreat without refund.
11) Alcohol and illegal drugs: Illegal drug use is prohibited. Participants are expected to use alcohol responsibly and in a manner that does not jeopardize the safety or experience of others.
12) Photography: Retreat photographs or videos may be taken for future promotional purposes. Participants may notify I am InLight if they do not wish to appear in promotional materials. While I am InLight will make reasonable efforts to honor these requests, incidental appearance in group photographs or videos cannot always be avoided.
13) Governing law: This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Oregon.
